I've never been enamored with the concept of a band in which the bass guitar is the lead instrument. Other than that he is a virtuoso bass player.

Jaco is dead and even when he was alive in his prime claypool smokes him. Collins is a good funk player but he's severely limited.

Jaco was great, one of a kind, but les claypool would run circles around him.

He's #1 by a long shot in my book. I was at that Tip's show Boone. It started around 1 am and went to 3:30 or 4 on a Sunday night.

I am a big fan of Les Claypool, but there was only one Jack Bruce. After Bruce, I rate Leo Lyons of Ten Years After and of course, John Entwhistle and I like Chris Squire of Yes also.
