Where does George Strait rank all time in Country Music?

Not top 10, but he would definitely be in the top 20.

he doesn't crack my top 20 but a lot of people like him. top 10 maybe, but not imo. i never was a big fan.

I had to go back and edit my first post. Strait along with Alan Jackson is definitely in my top 20. Of the newer artist in country music (90’s and later) these two top the list. These artist below are a few I’d put ahead of either of them on my list. Of course, there are some old ones up here and that’s because I’m an old timer and I like it twangy.

He's in my top 10 for sure. Not quite among the likes of merle, waylon, johnny, etc. Doesn't miss the top 5 by much. By a very long ways the king of the 90's.

All time great vocalist, but loses points because those ahead of him wrote their songs- Waylon, Willie, et al

Alan Jackson was great back in the day. He's since dropped way off.


That being said, George Strait is in my top 10 easily.
