Not sure if it's my favorite but Stranglehold by Ted Nugent is pretty high up there on my list

Never could name one. Mood is everything.
Also points in your life that you heard the song. Most receptive when you are high school to college. For me that is dead center of Seattle music. Pearl Jam was my favorite. So Black was huge for me. As you age and find more music you realize there were better song writers (Beatles etc).
But still mood. Black when I feel down.
Then are you talking just lyrics? Overall musicians? Full band sound with lyrics (Led Zepplin)?
You can go on and on.

ETA: and to go a different route from the rest of the thread, I will say that Lightning by Eric Church (the song that got him a label deal) is one of the best country songs written since willie, Waylon, the possum etc..
