Providence, RI in 1975. This is why Clapton gets shite on more than any other great guitarist. He is capable of sounding like this anytime he wants and he hardly ever wants to anymore.

Never mind. As soon as I hit send I remembered it was by Bill Wray, not John Fred.

Many Linda Ronstadt covers were better than the originals: You're No Good, Just One Look, Heat Wave, That'll Be The Day, Back In The USA come to mind. The covers put life back into tired old songs; one of her covers, Blue Bayou, is so much smoother and melodious than the original that it's scarcely recognizable as the same song.
