If it sounds different, it isn't the blues.
But BB King doesn't sound like Muddy Waters, who doesn't sound like Albert Collins, who doesn't sound like Rory Gallagher, who doesn't sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan.

These are Heavy Blues Bands.
Also known as Blues Rock. And there is a huge difference between blues and blues rock.

I’d rather take punches to the nuts for 4 hours than be at a jam band concert where it’s one continuous song that all sounds the same

On the thrash metal and stuff, it is what it is but as a bass player I’m confounded. These thrash bass players are constantly chasing this drive and this distortion and then I hear their songs and can barely even make out the bass they are so buried in the mix.

As a massive fan of Metallica, Slayer and Slipknot, there is a huge difference between that and Cookie Monster voice metal. That crap is unlistenable.

I disagree. The root of their music is based in blues. I know you mean they have more ear candy, but without blues they don’t exist.

Any jamming/noodling on forever stuff. In any genre. I can appreciate how well you’re playing but just get on with it.
Always way more impressive to me to see a band nail a perfect rendition of album version of a song with maybe a few little extended liberties than just go on for 10-15 minutes.

Blues. Just does nothing for me.
The Blues had a baby and named it Rock 'n' Roll. There wouldn't be the latter w/o the former.

Rock exists without the blues, it's just drastically different.
Now if you remove Celtic music, skiffle and country and western along with blues, it doesn't exist.

Whatever genre uses auto-tune for the lead vocals for the whole friggin song.

You can thank T Pain for that. He said Usher de-friended him over it.
