quote:Of course they were.
The Ramones were great. But they weren't greater than AC/DC.

quote:I agree. They're my least favorite popular rock band by a wide margin.
Possibly the worst popular act of the last 50 years.

Christman 1984. I got a Walkman as a gift and my new brother in law gave me most of his cassette collection. I was 13 but had only been listening to rock 'n roll for a short time. We're headed to Baton Rouge on Christmas day to visit relatives and I'm sitting in the back seat of my sisters Cutlass digging thru the tape he gave me. I pop Back In Black in, hit play, and my world was altered forever. There was no going back. I was hooked for good. Those bells started ringing, the riffs started in, and my mind was blown. By the time we got to Baton Rouge and hour later my understanding of how awesome rock 'n roll could be was completely rearranged.

AC/DC aren't as simple as some people say, otherwise there'd be a million copycats topping the charts. as basic as their philosophy is, they can fricking lock into a groove like few other bands can. i was a huge fan way back in the day, then kinda ignored them for awhile in college & a few years after. after seeing them live for the first time in 2000, i fell in love with them all over again....one of the best bands ever, and there's always a time & place for them.
