What are some good local bands?

So I know a guy in a band that I went see this weekend and was impressed. Got me wondering what local bands around BR are popular. Any suggestions? I like rock music, preferably bands with some originals.
ETA: To add this to the OP, the band I saw was Black Magnolia. See links two posts down.

In a previous thread someone had a clip of Tequila Party... I thought it was quite good. More of a rock-metal feel.

To Kill a Party is pretty awesome live(seen 'em 4 or 5 times). I believe they're playing M+W next month.Good local talent. If you like that genre.

It's tequila party. Josh changes it to to kill a party randomly.
I know him well, he's insanely talented.
If you like Marilyn Manson, rob zombie, you'll like his band. They are very entertaining.
Eta: they are playing mud and water on February 22nd. They are wild.

I liked Josh's project Versanova too. Really talented guy. Used to get on stage with us when we would share shows around town and be our "backup" singer.

Undun is a good original band too. They play at Frogs One Stop right past the Amite river between Watson and Central.
