Been listening to coroner for years,

In the heyday of thrash, like 1988, a buddy of mine came back from visiting his Mom in Germany with a copy of Punishment for Decadence and he made me listen to it from Ryan Airport to Nicholson. We sat in his driveway and listened to the entire cassette- the intro, pre-verse(?) and verse riffs from "Masked Jackal" still kill me. I had never even heard of them before that day...and I was an avid Metal Edge reader and Headbanger's Ball VHS stacker. I never understood how the Rush of thrash managed to raged on in obscurity that late into the decade.

I wish they would re-master Punishment and No More Colour, with just a smidge of production quality they would sound incredible. Noise records really fuct them with the lack of marketing and stingy tour dates in North America. They were big enough in Europe, Noise just assumed the US would fall in line...never happened. I didn't see the Masked Jackal video on Mtv until 1991...after Mental Vortex was released.

Killswitch Engage

I have no choice. I have to turn up the pre-chorus chord progression on "My Last Serenade" all the way every time I hear it. Every time.

Steve Clark and Pete Willis - the twin leads of Def Leppard prior to their monster Pyromania album - in particular High 'n Dry is one of the greatest heavy metal albums that metal snobs dismiss.

As a fellow Lep fan, I always look for your pro-Lep posts on the Music Board. I never saw Def Leppard prior to Pete's unceremonious exit in 1982, but I'm glad I got to see Steve live in '88 while he was still alive.
