Uncle Tom’s Cabin

I’m amazed this song holds up so well now. This should’ve been their major hit. When that guitar hits.... like a sledge hammer.... one of my favorite songs from that time.

Warrant is probably a top five band for me out of the so-called hair bands. The end of the eighties/the rise of grunge did them in. It didn't help that Cherry Pie is what everyone knows them for when it is literally a song that Janie wrote in fifteen minutes as kind of a frick you to a record company executive demanding a radio single. I spin Dog Eat Dog a lot because it has songs like Bitter Pill, Machine Gun, All My Bridges Are Burning and this one on it.

I remember going see Warrant, Trixter, and Firehouse like it was yesterday at the Cajundome.

Bought a sweet Cherry Pie shirt.

A week or so later, I bought five CDs: Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nirvana, and Mudhoney.

Yep. The end. LOL

Tesla is #1 for me, but Warrant was damn good for that scene. There really were some gems in the hairmetal craze. You just have to dig through the fabricated radio hits to find them. Cinderella was legit for instance.

I would also have to put Tesla in my top five. I saw them open for Motley Crue (#1) on the Dr. Feelgood tour. Guns and Roses would have to be in there along with Dokken. Honorable mention to Badlands, not quite a hair band but definitely a fantastic band that always gets overlooked.

Bitter Pill should be up there with Heaven. It’s that good.

If Bitter Pill had been released in the 80's it would be up there with all the classic power ballads.

It was just unreal that basically anything released by a "hair metal" band from 91 on was just not even considered human. The tide turned that fast once Grunge came on the scene.

Too bad the guitars in were flown in by Mike Slamer.

Posers.
