Many a man scarred and dream shattered.

Probably the most horrific event I can remember since 9/11.

Jazzfest was one of the best weekends of my life. No clue what you are constantly babbling about.

About once every week it happens around 2:30 in the morning, I'll have the same dream...there I am at the fairgrounds. It's a mildly warm day. Not too hot like jazzfest usually is (That's my first red flag)

I'm always in the back, surrounded by a group of people, all with no faces. They seem safe, hopeful, comforting.

Phish is onstage. Trey, Page, Fish, Gordo, all looking like they did on that day in April. I begin to smile. That warm feeling starts to consume, that feeling you get when you are an child and you wrap yourself tight in blankets on a brisk evening.

Then it happens. Phish plugs in their instruments, Trey walks to the mic to greet the crowd...He starts to strum the guitar, the reverb kicks out an oh so familiar sound...This is where all that comfort and happiness subsides into a black abyss. Phish has just played "The Line". I begin to panic, I can't breathe or scream for help. The people around me start to tear at my flesh as Trey laughs a menacing laugh as he screams into the mic "We don't give a shite anymore!!! HAHAHA"

NO YOU BASTARDS, NO!!!!!

That's when I dart up from my slumber in a cold sweat, get a grasp on my surroundings, and try to go asleep knowing that next week at 2:30am I will once again be Phish Jazzfest'd

Bayliss' guitar playing might actually make me feel less emotion than Jimmy Herring's, which is next to nothing.

Both obviously talented musicians, both play soulless, machine sounding guitar.

You're really in a mission to run the lol*** into the ground. I agree, it has run it's course (among other things on here).

Both very good.
Both have excellent musicians.
Neither can sing for shite.
Just depends on whether you rather hear southern rock/blues or reggae-tinged prog rock.
I'd go see either one in a heartbeat.

why do you guys get your panties all wadded up over which band may be better?

whoever you enjoy more is the better band.

It's a music discussion board. Do you want every post to be "hey while that band may not be my favorite, I respect you as a person and understand that musical taste is highly subjective!" That would be lame.

i guess if you want to get your panties all twisted over which band you think is better and be completely non-productive, then twist away.
