Can you replace it with a shorter bolt?

I suppose. But won't that make it flex while playing and eventually start cracking?

I assume this is just an issue with ALL LP style guitars?

Are you talking about the bolt on the top of the pickguard that holds it to the L-shaped bracket?

Yes.

End of bolt ends up pointing straight down to surface of the guitar. Not the two screws holding the pick guard to the body.

OK, that's what I thought you were talking about. If the bolt is too long then just try to find a shorter one that doesn't extend all the way down to the body.

Thanks Bob. It is well made. Grover tuners and a SLAB of wood.

If I never learn to play it it can serve as home defense. I could beat someone to death with it. Probably only take two swings.

Well got the guitar and posted pics. The selector switch is broken.

Not a big issue, but I don't solder, and bought the service plan.

I finally get the guitar in and am turning it in for service. The tech pulls down a selector replacement and puts it in the case with my guitar. It's black? Mind was white. Matches the binding and pick guard. I asked the guy if he could pull the cover off my broken switch and put it on the new one? He said he'd try.

Never dealt with GC service. I understand that my guitar is an Agile and the switch he had in stock was a Gibson switch. It's probably more expensive, but I want it to match?

Man,find yourself good local tech. Give him some business a few bucks at a time, forever. These kind of things won't cost you much,he will help you out and give you good advice. If you are really close, and he knows the kind of stuff you are always in the market for,he will clue you in.
There is nothing wrong with picking up a good deal at GC,but man, have work done at a better place,by somebody who gives a frick..likely enjoys exceeding expectations.
I do a lot of my own work, but I have a guy that helps me out on wiring type stuff. He knows that I appreciate him,and when he hands my guitar back to me,and I am plugging in,or getting settled in to check it out,he's watching and smiling. It's personal.

That's what you want. He's got that pride.
