Best thing for Americana/TX country since Ryan Bingham.

I agree. And they're finally getting the recognition they deserve. They got their first bus last Tuesday!

I can't imagine how cool that must feel.

I am on the fence about the first half of the new TT album - some of those songs will have to grow on me. The second half is money, though. Songs 6-11 are great, with "Empty As A Drum" and "Wrecked" being my early favorites by far.

I will say that, as a whole, I dont enjoy it as much as Diamonds & Gasoline. I still go on spurts where I listen to D&G for two weeks straight and I was that way from the very first listen. Its such a great album from top to bottom.

D&G's still my favorite, too, but I cannot get enough of "Good Lord Lorrie". Don't know what it is about that song but I absolutely love it.

Agreed. After I hit send on my last post, I was upset I forgot to mention Good Lord Lorrie when I listed the other songs.

My favorite thus far. Star of the album.

Thanks to the Music Board for bringing this band to my attention. I downloaded D&G and Goodbye Normal Street earlier in the week. HAve't really given D&G a concentrated listen yet but I've been spinning the new one in my car over and over. I love their sound. I do wish they would back off the fiddle just a bit at times, but overall love it.

My favorites on the album so far are:

Morgan Street
Good Lord Lorrie
Before the devil knows your dead
Blue Star
Wrecked

I'll try to give D&G a few spins this weekend.

I actually love the fiddle playing, haha. I haven't had the chance to see TT live, but I imagine they have some serious fiddle solos and instrumental jam sessions thrown into their live set. I just moved to Austin, Tx not too long ago, so hopefully I'll get the chance to see them soon considering how much they're in the area. I know they are playing Gruene Hall soon, possibly tonight.

Gruene Hall tonight.

Saw them live Tuesday at Waterloo Records and they were AWESOME. You should definitely make it out there if you can.
