This is good. I enjoy experimental music

Music doesnt have to be experimental or hard to listen to, to push limits and forge new paths.

What's your honest reason?

Of what? Why I dont like Jack White? His music sucks.

Push what limits? Forge what new paths?

You're being very banal and trite with your answers.

It doesn't have to be hard to listen to, but it does have to be experimental to some extent to push boundaries. Pushing boundaries is trying new things. Trying new things is experimental.

Sometimes it's fine to just listen to a good standard song or style.

And I don't particularly like Jack White either. I just think that your argument is weak and purposefully inflamatory. Elaborate please.

The limits of what is being produced and has been produced in the past.

Thats up to the artist

Well that's a pretty general response. For someone who seems so deep musically, that's not much meat on your plate.

But anyways, Jack White has had some pretty good success with rock, alternative, country, blues, folk, electronic rock, just off the top of my head. I'd say he's pushing his limits in many different genres of music and is usually different than what he's produced in the past.

Read above.

Your argument is just weak, and when using "banal and trite", you'll need to get a little more creative with your explanation other than "his music sux".

Hes never done anything that hasnt already been done in the past.

"banal and trite"

Its just the perfect description of his music. Its boring and nothing new.

Well if that is what you expect from your music, expect to be severely disappointed with everything ever created in the history of ever. Almost all music is inspired from something already done or produced.

No, it's not. It's pretty far from that actually.

So does your opinion, which has pretty much been established in this thread.

Theres a large difference between drawing from the past and being almost derivative.

I'm beginning to believe that you just say "push the limits" and "challenge the boundaries" just to make yourself seem musically inclined. It's not working.

Oh don't worry dude, you didn't hurt my feelings...I'm just trying to help you out of the current situation you put yourself in by throwing you some softball questions. You still whiffed...
