I’ve accepted that Fear Inoculum is the last Tool album we will ever get.

Literally last week Danny Carey said they have a ton of material, and are now free from their label, allowing them to do what they want, and they are planning a new album
It's not over

I find it hilarious that we all feel the need to come back and revisit our initial takes, yet here I am joining the party.
Pneuma jumped out early and just hasn't been caught by another song on the album. The way the melody is crafted is unbelievable, but Danny Carey lost his god damn mind on this track. I just don't think it gets topped. After having revisited tracks like Lateralus, Right In Two, The Pot, Wings for Marie/10k Days, etc. I'm not sure if I can say it's my favorite Tool song ever, but it's up there.
Like a few others mentioned, Culling Voices has gotten a lot of playtime on my end the longer this album has been out. Maynard's vocals are scarce on the album in general and I find myself enjoying the easy groove this song provides. You just slow rock your way through it. Put me in the camp that thinks this song is overlooked.
Descending has been the other standout to round out the top 3. Again, this is another of the few tracks that you get a good bit of Maynard vocals. It certainly wasn't a conscious decision, but I seem to have favored the tracks where his vocals are a bit more pronounced, Pneuma obviously being the outlier. Overall the song is just a good jam. Nice mix of groove and shred.

I went back to Lateralus bc I thought FI was going to take the top album spot for me.
FI is the BAND's best outing but Maynard shines on Lateralus, making it the best album by a hair.
FI is recorded/mixed/mastered better but Lateralus is just perfect in every other category. Maynard pours his soul out on it.
That said, Pneuma, Descending, and Invincible are among my favorite Tool songs ever

Curious to see if they have the balls to attempt Tempest.

That’s a hell of a set list...

I’d be happy with that. Would love it even more if they threw in something from Opiate but no big deal.

Yeah, they didnt play it, but maybe down the line at a regular headlining show? I saw them Sunday, but it was a festival and every band there was nailed to a timeline. I was certain they would return for an encore, but even that didn't happen. I'm done with festivals but good lord this was the best TOOL show I have ever seen. Graphics were unreal with a light show better than last years. TOOL is certainly in their live prime. Amazing show. Paying scalper prices to see the full show next weekend in LA.
