First off,

This is one of my favorite CD's of all time and somehow I've never seen the video to Possum Kingdom until yesterday.

I heard the song on the radio the other day and the DJ said it was about a murder/rape on Possum Kingdom Lake in Texas.

Anyone else heard this? I searched and found very little on it.

The Toadies and Possum Kingdom Lake wiki's state very little if nothing at all about this.

In a 1995 interview with RIP magazine, Toadies lead singer Todd Lewis said: "It's just a story I heard long ago; it's just a really cool, eerie lake, and some stuff I heard and some stuff I just make up. I tend to do that. They dammed up this big river up there, and it's got all these spooky names like Hell's Gate. It's really cool."

Lewis went on to say that there was a real stalker in Tyler, Texas who became a folk hero: "I was down there for Thanksgiving, and after the family got through talking about who died and who's got cancer and all those things that families talk about, they started talking about this guy who was peeping in windows and started breaking into people's houses. He'd go out of his way to be seen, and everyone is like armed to the teeth, and he's like tapping on windows. The whole family was freaked out about it."

He's referring to the song "Tyler" in that statement

Arguably the most underrated CD of the 90's.

That album is a masterpiece.

I've had the cd for years, and I don't think I've ever listened to another song on there. After this thread, I know what I'm doing after the kids go to bed tonight.

Yeah, and there's really no reason why. I love possum kingdom and should have listened to it by now. In about an hour, that won't be the issue any more. If these kids ever go to sleep. Man they're wound up.

I lived at PK from '05-'06. Still have some good friends at the Cliff's.

I have asked about the song, but the "locals" I know aren't really local.

Slap some head phones on and start the CD at one and turn as loud as it will go. The first song blends right into the second.

Tyler is my favorite song, you might not like it a whole lot at first but give it it's just do. I love that song.

"Happy Face" and "I come from the water" are good but a little silly.

It's one of my top 3 CDs of all time.

"Away" I remember when this was out on the radio also. Great song too.

Epic cd guys. I've been listening to it basically since I got up around 5.

There's like 5 songs that could be a legit fave on the cd, besides possum kingdom. In no particular order.

Backslider
I burn
Tyler
I come from the water
Away

The other 5 tracks would tie for second place. thanks for the suggestion fellas.
