Thoughts on the new album by Morgan Wallen?

It’s 30 tracks and I’ve only heard like 6/7 of them so far. I did skip over a couple that were previously released as well. Of the ones I heard, “Sand in My Boots” and “865” were the best. He does tend to tip toe that Bro Country line though...
What say y’all?

Also, is he the song writer, or does a team of Nashville execs give him the songs to record? The lyrics are well written for the most part.
One more take... “Cover me up” by Isbell is definitely the better version.

I only listened to his version of Cover Me Up. It’s terrible. I’m sure the rest is too.

I think it's pretty ridiculous to have a double album of bro country party songs about drinking and being country and then covering a song about sobriety. this guy's schtick is lame and the songs he sings are cliched and worn out.
yeah we get it, you party hard out in the country.

I've only heard Sand in my Boots and Silverado For Sale so far but thought they were decent

There was a song with Chris Stapleton on there too but I forgot which one it was.

The great Grady Smith just did an album review. Check it out!

really solid album, although a lot of the songs are pretty old by now so he doesn't get credit for a full double album.

Some good ones and some dreadful nonsense on there
865/sand in my boots/ Silverado for sale are some standouts for me

silverado for sale may be cliche but damn that song jams
i know at least 100 guys that that song describes perfectly. but it still may be my favorite song on the album

Saving Country Music blog has a pretty detailed review. Some decent songs, in his opinion, but too much bro in most.
Damn. Those sound like the names of Wheeler Walker parody songs.

Dangerous: The Double Album is really the tale of two records. One is stuff you’re truly impressed with coming from such a popular mainstream country star, and one that affirms all of your foreboding concerns about this young man from east Tennessee with his mullet and cutoff sleeves. If anything, the balance of this record leans farther towards the less savory side of “country,” if some of these songs are even fair to label that. But it would be a lie, or unfair to overlook some of the better songs this album contains as well.
***
“Map dot, southern rock, buckshot, stop sign; Grizz pack, mantle rack, channel cat, trot line,” the song “Beer Don’t” machine guns out in its first phrase, and that’s not even the most cliche “I’m country!” song of the lot. You also have “Somethin’ Country,” “Country arse shite,” and “Whatcha Think of Country Now.”
Damn. Those sound like the names of Wheeler Walker parody songs.

I bought it. He’s trying to sound like other people in some songs but overall is a good album.
