Thoughts on Christopher Cross's eponymous album in 1980?

Aside from all the cheesiness surrounding it, it's actually a very solid record in my opinion. And yes, I did listen to it after the new Anchorman movie.

I always thought he had a very distict, great voice. I only remember a couple of the hit songs he put out..Sailing, Ride like the wind.

I saw him in Natchitoches at NSU. He did a show there right before he won his grammy's. It was a good show and it is a good album.

I also liked Think of Laura a couple of years later.

I remember being in disbelief to find out that a male actually sand that album.
One of my all-time favorite albums, though. That sound is uniquely '80s.

The double guitar and Earl Campbell jersey here are epic.

Played Arthur theme about 42 times in a row on my turntable when I was a little kid. I admit it. Cross used some pretty serious players on his records, the 80 self title had Eric Johnson and Larry Carlton on guitar. Flew on the same plane with him once, nice guy but I'm not entirely sure Kyle Gass isn't his son.

My first thought after hearing the name Chris Cross is that the Mack daddy will make you jump jump and the daddy Mack will make you jump jump. Uh huh uh huh
