I'm not jealous, I gave the dude props. I just think he sucks at the whole music deal. I'm not mad at him, he's super successful and seemingly a nice dude.
Eta: there are plenty of new age mainstream country stars with good music IMO. Zac Brown, Dierks, Eric Church, etc

I think he made a choice to appeal to the biggest fan base
Maybe it is or it isn't the music he wants to make, that I don't know, but if his goal was to be successful, I think he's doing pretty good.
Those artists that want to stay true to what they see in a genre can do so, and be successful in their own way, but they may not sell the most albums.
I like most of yesterday's and today's music. I guess I could be labeled as a dumb american for it, but it doesn't really bother me
