No way I don't know Zappas Stache and PorcelainPunisher. No way. I was a Chimes St. fixture from 1982-2000. I even married one of the Bayou bartenders.

I have a friend that filmed the show from multiple angles. He's in the process of editing but will send it to me when he's done. I'll upload it somewhere and post a link once it's done.

quote:Most likely , The Bayou was my spot from 79 into the 90's and I attened every TImes show locally. Seen them boys everywhere from the bayou, chimes, jaceys to td's poolside longue at the old Hilton off Bennington during LA. Music Week. No better local band IMO....

I was at LSU from 79-83. I remember seeing them back then. Weren't they originally called "The Times" and then added the "US" because of the national band "The Time" (with Morris Day)? Or am I just misremembering this...

I believe you are exactly correct.
As an aside, I'm pretty sure I know a few of you tards in this thread from Chimes St foolishness. Spent many a Wednesday doing double-drunk night at The Bayou.

quote:Yes it is. When Gino had aspirations to take the band national they added the US. The rest of the bad had careers and didn't really want to go thru the grind it would take to even attempt to be national. Not too long after that Gene made to solo move to L.A and just like Johnny Pal predicted, he got ate up and spit out. LOVE ME SOME TIMES!
I believe you are exactly correct.

Possibly. Hung at the Bayou a lot--to this day possibly the grimiest bathroom I've ever seen. Used to go in the afternoon, play some pool, load up the jukebox with quarters, drink some beer, then stumble home.

I was a Bayou/Chimes regular from 83-90. Used to go see Dash at the Chimes on.... Tuesday nights maybe? There would be 10 people in the place.

I hope it was the one I used to stalk.

Then there's no doubt you know me. I was there pretty much every night. Not sure if you remember the huge parties thrown at a house called the Alamo across the street from the Caterie but those were my parties. I was big into the music scene and very good friends with the area bar employees. All of the KLSU crew from those days are still my friends. We also threw the big party on the USS Kidd.
Not going to lie, those years you mentioned were the best years of my life.
