Not sure if I can really say they are my favorite band, but they are the clear winner based on how many albums bought. Pleasant Dreams is the most underrated album of all time. I own all of them.

Love Pet Sematary, but Sheena is a Punk Rocker takes the cake, icing and candles for me.
Funny side note: My 7yo step son thinks they are saying "Sheena is a Ball Rocker" and sings it whenever I put it on. My wife and 12yo step daughter get a good hearty laugh every time

The Ramones are the best pure rock 'n roll band of all time. They got it in a way nobody else did, they went right to the heart and soul of r 'n r and showed everyone what it was all about.

They deserved much more success then they got. Because of the Sex Pistols and their charades due to a lack of actual good music, no one wanted to touch the Ramones or any other American punk band.

They've always been a basic barometer for me... If you don't like the Ramones, odds are we wont have much in common musically..

That would be Black Flag. But I agree that the Ramones are pretty damn great. But American hardcore does not happen without Black Flag. The Ramones, ironically, were more influential to the UK punk bands.
