The fact that Dave is even mentioned in this thread is depressing.

I'm old. Been seeing these bands since most of y'all were in diapers.
Dead, Phish and ABB all top tier, no one else
Cheese and Bisco are tier two, along with moe and WP.
Bela Fleck and Black Crowes are not jam bands.
The Phil and Friends from 2000-2002-ish is probably better than all of them. His band with Jimmy Herring and Warren Haynes was absolutely top notch. Pull any show from archive.org and behold. They killed it every night.
Where is Steve Kimock?

If we are talking all time:
Grateful Dead and Phish are 1
ABB is 2.
Duane's death and the subsequent turmoil is the reason. They made a nice recovery years later with the Haynes/Trucks tandem (actually even the Betts/Haynes duo was awesome) but post Duane they never reached the dizzying psychedelic heights that the GD and Phish did.

You could make the same argument for almost all these bands. Phish, WP, moe., SCI and Disco Biscuits have been around 20-30 years. The crowds at jamband shows in 2014 skew towards the late 30s, early 40s.
The jamband scene peaked somewhere around 95-2000. Even Bonnaroo has moved on

You're also the pfg/costadelmar/sperrys "gonna kill me a handle at panic" Alabama philistine kinda guy. I don't blame you for not liking it. Not exactly my idea of a person with a keen opinion on music though.
fwiw sts9 >> widespread panic

So...I mean that's it. That's all I'm going to say here. I think my point has been made pretty clear here.

I don't own any of that. I just prefer southern rock and roll instead of ableton jamz, flat bills, and pinz

Exactly, you have terrible taste in music.

If you can't enjoy a show because someone is wearing a flatbill and pins then I wouldnt recommend you see phish shows outside of alabama.
That fanbase has a pretty big flatbill/pin presence. Thats just the scene. Sorry, not everyone wears vizors and croakies.
I don't see any laptops or abelton
