The Obscure Metal Thread

One of the best genres for searching the web to see what hidden gems can be undiscovered. I'm itching for something new to listen to and i've never seen many extreme metal threads on the MB, so i might be the only post ITT but i'm willing to take the risk of looking like a loner douchebag in order to discover some new shite or show someone else something worth listening to. Reach waaaay down deep in your music library and post something you think no one has heard of (all 10,000 subgenres and offshoots are welcome).
Iniquity - Serenadium - Devastating Dutch TechDeath from the mid 90's
Scum - Purple Dreams and Magic Poems - Superb old school Finnish death metal with a touch of melody
Drudkh - Blood In Our Wells - Awesome Atmoshperic Black Metal, a little folk influence
Primitive Man - Scorn - Crushing blackened sludge/doom metal fresh out of colorado
Holly Hunt - Prometheus - Solid Doom metal virtually unheard of outside of Miami
Demolition Hammer - Epidemic of Violence - Demo Hammer had a fairly big following in NY, but this is by far the most intense thrash i have found in a looooong time
Leeway - Born to Expire - I think this band was on GTA or some shite like that. Either way, great crossover thrash record that no one talks about
Criminal Element - Guilty as Charged - Formed by former members of Misery Index and Dying Fetus
Leviathan - The Tenth Sub Level of Suicide - Not gonna be for everyone, 1 man black metal, it's pretty raw
Agalloch - The Mantle - Pagan/Folk metal from Seattle, a little easier on the ears, lots of clean vocals
Dopamine - II - Instrumental Blackgaze from China, i think. Interesting stuff
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Sleep Is Wrong - Hard to describe. I would say it's like Tool, just alot more experimental and extreme with some noise elements

Tribulation they'll be in New Orleans with Behemoth and Cannibal Corpse next month
In Solitude sounds like Mercyful Fate, several members are heavily rumored to be in Ghost
other random cool bands
Trepalium French jazz metal fusion, groovy stuff
Cannabis Corpse song titles are all weed parodies of Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel songs but the music is solid death metal
Crisis female fronted 90s band that paved the way for bands like Otep and Kittie, except they actually made good music and Karyn Crisis is an awesome singer
Quo Vadis Canadian tech death

I've heard of Quo Vadis but never actually listened
Never heard of Crisis or Trepalium
I saw Ghost BC live in Charlotte, I had never heard of them before, it was like a black mass. I'm interested in In Solitude. Big Mercyful Fate fan.

I think Pale Folklore is Agalloch's masterpiece.
Check out Panopticon. Kind of does for bluegrass what Agalloch does for Scandinavian folk.
Sigh is a really crazy Japanese metal band who does some kind of crazy circus opera hybrid stuff.
The people who mentioned Windhand are dead on. Great band.

Never know what qualifies as obscure. Bolzer is getting much love. Trap Them is cool for that extreme shite. Little Rock, Ar band Pallbearer gets lots of love, but Rwake is also really good.

Never heard of any of those except Pallbearer, if it's the same band, and I've only heard them mentioned, never listened.
I think those bands meet the criteria perfectly. I threw obscure in the title so people wouldn't post a bunch of cannibal corpse, morbid Angel, carcass, etc. Stuff that's pretty well known.
I'm surprised there's an Agalloch fan on here, although they're probably the most well known of all the bands I listed. Them and Demolition Hammer.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum is one of my all time favorite bands. I've seen them live probably five or six times. They always put on a very theatric show. Just incredible. I really wish they would get back together.

Also pretty well known, but Kvelertak is a really fun punk/metal cross that's like metal party music or something.

I consider them a death/thrash hybrid if anything. The vocals may not be quite as guttural-driven as more reputable death acts, but it's still pretty intense.

What is obscure is their 1991 technical thrash debut: Contradictions Collapse. It's still pretty damn good and a little more traditional-sounding than their later work.

Esoteric - Metamorphogenisis - My favorite funeral doom release
Tetragrammaton Bandcamp - This band are friends of a friend of mine. They're gaining some exposure in Miami, but they're relatively unheard of everywhere else. Really good Blackened doom metal.
