The Mars Volta Members Form New Group With Flea

Rodríguez-López kicked off a new album with Bosnian Rainbows, leading Bixler-Zavala to issue a statement comparing him to a "cheating wife".
Since then, though, the pair appear to have settled their differences. Heading back into the studio, the musicians have opted to form new group Antemasque.
The two are working with former Mars Volta drummer Dave Elitch and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, with Volcom suggesting that new material is incoming.
Antemasque have placed a handful of studio clips online, allowing fans an insight into their creative process.

Flea is a phenomenal musician. RHCP isn't really my cup of tea, but that's just taste. His talent is undeniable. He also does a lot of work outside of RHCP, including The Mars Volta....

I understand the desire to pump up the technicality of what TMV does by saying a guy of Fleas talent level has difficulty with it, but whether 11 yrs ago or not, I'm quite certain Flea can handle it.

Dave Elitch is also playing in a new group with members of Mastodon, Dilinger Escape Plan, and Soulfly called Killer Be Killed. Their album comes out next month and the first teo songs they've released are pretty cool.

Holy Crap this is amazing news! I hope it gives Omar and Cedric a fresh start to create something great again. I felt TMV jumped the shark after Bedlam.
