Steve Winwood sang Gimme Some Lovin when he was only 16 in the Spencer Davis Group.

The Letter is a great song and I really like Big Star.

I agree on a couple of songs albeit he couldn't cover 98% of the hits they had. He knew what songs to choose & those were already commercial successes.

I had a client call out of the blue a few years back that wanted me to produce some songs. He picked a couple of other guys to go into preproduction.

We were about five rehearsals in before I realized the guitarist was Gary Talley from the Boxtops.
