Matt Patt showed up right as they were going on stage because his flight from wherever the Truckers played the night before was late.

I remember hearing about that when Elliot posted about it.

I also remember when lee went to LA and flew into Baton Rouge and got on the stage to strap his guitar on just as the band was starting to play great timing Lee

Sorry my friend, Rocket From The Crypt has reunited and have taken over that crown...

That said, they are just playing live now and may or may not put out a record... so, I'll go with the best live band on the planet...

Well I'll just disagree with that.

Dexateens are pure unadulterated southern rock and roll with a tinge of punk grit.

Never cared much for that band and I've seen them live.

See a dexateens show and you're a believer.

Ive seen the dexateens... live show is little leagues compared to Major Leagues... I'm dead serious about that and I understand you disagree... They just happen to be my favorite live show of all time... No one brings it as hard!

Anyway, I was just joking to begin with... I wasnt really intending to derail the thread. Hell, I considered going to Athens with Dave to go see them last month...

**Also, John Reis did the single coolest/funniest thing Ive ever seen at a live show..

He went to Athens to see them?

He's trying to get them back in BR again and so is JW

No, he was trying to round up a group of 3-4 of us, but everyone fell through..

Yeah, when I saw JW post that earlier, thats the first thing that popped into my mind... They are both very good friends of mine, so I'll stay out of that one

I had asked Elliot (singer) if they planned on coming down to BR again and he said no

But In his defense, they were broken up, lee was touring with the glory fires, matt with drive by truckers, and the other guitarist with 13 ghosts.

Dave got back with me yesterday, said he contacted them.

I know JW reached out as well. I think it would be a packed show

That's an older song of course.

But live, they are incredible.

I'll agree with that. The drummer is in the same class as Meg White

I like the attitude though.
