plus everything back then was so original and definitely not stolen from previous artists. I mean can you get more original than Led Zeppelin?

Musical taste change & "Rock music" will be a distant memory just as all dorms of Pop music

[quote]not aware of much art rock?[/quote

No "high" art. In pop musicians borrowing a few classical riffs. One can throw the term 'art' on any music ,but it doesn't make it high art.

Most Pop music fans /musicians(Jazz included) realize their genre of music will eventually fade away & at best become a little niche

I don't know what makes "Rock" immune to this decline. Its certainly a music whose fans think a bit more of the music than warranted.

When people say "The Death of Music", what the really mean is "the death of new music on the radio that I like to listen to", which generally means "the death of rock n roll on the radio". That is very well documented.
"Billboard" music today is waaay more negative than it used to be - both in terms of sound/chords/mood and lyrics. I find it's a real drag and requires a big degree of adaptation in your thinking and general outlook to even consider putting in your playlist. When I do find myself listening to these, I often say to myself, "What's the point?".

On the upside, outlets like Spotify make lots of "real music" readily accessible, thereby keeping the drive alive.

Or you can spend a few minutes and create a Pandora station with all your favorite artists and sit back and wait for Pandora to introduce new stuff to you.

lolersktes. Pandora sucks and usually every station just folds back into the same nonsense.

You can also do similar things with Spotify.

Not every band is on spotify.

It really doesn't take all that much effort

Maybe not for hardcore music fans dedicated to finding new music, but new music is much les accessible to the casual fan these days. That's a fact.

Probably the dozens of sub genres and sub genres people create every couple of years to make it "their own."

Hard rock done right has the intensity that people like. It crosses over well with a lot of classical music, just change the instruments and the intensity is still there. Mozart has an edgy, angry style that could easily convert to modern rock.
