No you cant. Please post a bar and night to prove me wrong. I would love to hear a band that sounds as good as The Black Keys on a weekly basis.

Go listen to him.

He plays in Nola all the freaking time. As of right now, you can see him at:

The Republic - 4/27
Howlin' Wolf - 4/28
Tipitina's - 4/30
The Old Ironworks - 5/1
Jazz Fest - 5/5

Like I said, I like The Black Keys, but they aren't doing anything revolutionary.

they may not be doing anything unique, but they are still keeping the rock-n-roll heart beating. They are one of the few bands that haven't let rock die all together and let frickin pop and rap and dub step take over

I've been on BK since they started. I think I like them as much for their role in pushing roots/rock/blues into the national scene as much as their performance. What they play isn't unbelievably new or creative. You can find a lot of bands down that avenue. You don't see that many headlining major gigs or selling gold/platinum though.

Saw Royal Southern Brotherhood last week. They look like they could have real potential to step up to national prominence playing in the same region of sound.

Geez.. why jump on a guy for not keeping up? Really great band, though I do prefer their earlier, rougher stuff. Bands that are experimental are great and all, but sometimes I like bands that just rock out. You don't have to reinvent the wheel. It's okay to realize the wheel is a great frickin' invention.
