I play for the senior ladies once a week.Small group.8 or less.

I'm playing at least 1 new song each Friday.

I'm leaning "Love Rain O'er Me" this morning.

These Ladies have loved songs from Sly and the Family Stone(Everyday People),to The White Stripes(I Can Tell That We Are Gonna Be Friends).

A lot of Folk Music to 70's Rock.

It's been a great Blessing to me.I've been able to go from a $300 Alvarez to a Martin D-28 in front of them.

I've also been challenged to perform.I can tell when it's connecting;and that's a beautiful feeling.

And I have had felt it going bad and not connecting.

I've found a small, friendly audience that wants to hear me play and sing every Friday.

That is a gift from God.

Learning Carinhoso - Brazilian standard from the 1930's. Trying to learn the accompaniment on this video (the singer is the guitarist's mom) Both are from the Barcelona jazz scene

I haven't figured it out yet either. But I'm plugging away at it. Great that you have a weekly gig. Cool thing. Respect.

I love country and I am average player. I tend to stick to easy country songs. I've been focused on these lately.

Drivin my life Away- Eddie Rabbit- very easy and people love it.

Gods gonna cut you down- Johnny Cash

Two Dozen Roses- Shenandoah

Dont close your eyes - Keith Whitley (wish I could sing like him)

Cherokee Fiddle- Johnny Lee

Just to name a few. Im trying to get comfortable enough to start performing a little, but I'm not much of a singer.

I'm in a bit of a lull right now. I started working on Whiter Shade of Pale but it got to be harder than it looked. I picked it up thinking it would take a couple of weeks but not the case. I still think it's within my ability so I just need to sack up and keep working on it.

That is Charlie Daniels, isn't it ?

Are you thinking of Country Boy Can Survive by Hank Jr. ?

Both are good songs to learn .

Highway to Hell

You may not want to play that one for the blue hairs, though.

Thanks for the songs.

I'm an average player and singer.Picked it up 17 years ago.

A buddy asked me to go with him and play at an Assisted Living Facility around 8 months.

They're the only audience I've ever had.

I play for my own enjoyment every day..

I love the guitar.

I definitely play better and experiment more with it when I'm alone playing.

eta: I like the John Lennon song above.Might give it a try.
