Title is what it says. Send your top 20 in each category. If you can't think of 20 then give at least 10 or don't vote.

Categories are as follows:

Guitar
Lyricist
Vocalist note: TheDoc will be exluded from voting in this category
Bass
Drums

E-mail your picks to totmomisinnocent@gmail.com and I'll start compiling.

Do you really need the top 20 drummers? How about 5 drummers and 35 guitarist? Or split lead vs bass?

Drums

Vinnie calouta
Dave weckle
Buddy rich
Dennis chambers
Jojo Meyer
Chris Coleman
Mike portney
Chad Wackerman
Peter erskine
Joe morello
Mac roach
Simon philips
Todd zucherman
Louie bellson
Jeff porcaro
Tony Williams
Gene Krupa
Pat petrillo
Damien Schmitt

Buddy rich is still king though.

Also phil collins can play very well in all kinds of music and can arrange music like nobodys business

Here is my list for people that don't know better

Neil peart
John bonham
Keith moon
Chris Adler
Dana Carey
Travis barker
Carter beauford (legit for sure though)
Lars ulrich

All great drummers, but everyone in my first list absolutley kills these guys.

My personal favorites

Pat petrillo
Tommy igoe
Bernard purdie (would love to have a beer with. Seems super cool)
Vinnie Caloutta
Emmanuelle caplette
Gavin Harrison
Steve gad

You left out Tommy Lee

Although I disagree with you in saying Neil Peart is not a top 20 drummer.

Don't get me wrong, I love peart. When I started playing 20 years ago I learned many of his songs and Tom sawyer is still his benchmark. Peart said himself that he is happy everytime he plays it right because it's so hard to play. I have all his videos and music. I love him and I would definetly put him in the top 20 or even top 10 most influential iconic drummers of all time. But as far as being in the top 20 BEST? IMO he is not.

Here is iian rubin. A drummer very few know about. Not saying he is better then peart but he wouldn't make my top 20 either. Fast forward to the 1:35 mark. That is when he starts playing. He is straight RAW LINK

Here is jojo Meyer, he is elite very few are in this category. Check it out. Like most solos it doesn't take of until the 1 min mark LINK

And here is a classic drum battle with weckle, Caloutta and gadd. Unreal

LINK
And here is the grandfather. Buddy rich

Here is tony royster jr. Another one of the worlds best.

LINK

These are just a few.

My suggestions. Sorry not enough time to make a long list but these are 3 that come to mind.

John Frusciante
Doug Martsch

Those two belong no questions asked
