Yeah the sound was off. Jazz Fest needs to update the Acura Stage's sound. People were complaining about both Phish and Clapton not being loud enough. I think the stage itself should also be widened.

There's a great show in the Cheesehead thread from ATX and a couple Earphunk guys came out and played with them. I'd link but I'm on my phone. Hollingsworth is an animal on the keys

I agree, for a crowd that large the stage is too small

Nice. Won't be too hard to get in either.

I probably could have brought in a kilo of heroin and an ak-47 to that festival. Jesus.

I just hope no one judges SCI off their festie set too critically. They are the cirque du soleil of the jam band scene and have some incredible theatrics and involved like trapeze artists in their shows at large venues like red rocks. Their light shows are also top notch. I love how they play a funky bluegrass rock daytime set and super trippy nighttime psychedelic shite. They will definitely bring the jams though just not as long as normal. Their stream from tonight was pretty damn good so I'm feeling confident about Thursday.

Yea I'll keep an open mind if I make it down. I know so little about SCI that I'll probably enjoy the show even if it's a subpar show to SCI snobs. Just like Phish noobs said Phish's show was awesome Saturday, even though it was really kind of a snoozer outside of a few moments. All about perspective. I know a few people that that really like them and have good taste in jambland noodle groups, so I expect to be entertained.

I caught about 30 minutes of their show tonight. Was pretty good. I've recently gotten into them and really appreciate their sound and how unique they are. They really incorporate a lot of styles into their music which I think is impressive.

I saw them for the first time for their three night run in Austin. They didn't bring the big theatrics but the backyard is an awesome venue. It was probably the best jam band experience I've ever had from the lot to the security to the actual music. Then going out in Austin tripping on acid after (always fun). SCI is the only other jam band I care about besides bisco.

It's nice that it's on Thursday so we can have them to ourselves and won't be crowded. I just hope danman hangs out at the IRL LOLWSP MB MEETUP . His cynicism is much needed.
