I’ve always liked

Always on my mind

Elvis, willie, pet shop boys have sang versions of it, but I feel like the right artist has never sang this song or really hit me in the feels the way I think this song should/could.

Is there a classic song any of y’all love, but feel it could be better somehow?

I'd like to hear this song given a lighter country-rock/alt.country treatment, perhaps w/pedal steel, ringing guitar, faster tempo & above all a less heavy-footed beat.

The best song ever written is “teenage kicks” by the undertones

Sticking with Willie theme: "I'd Have to Be Crazy"
Should be an all time classic. Willie's version is so stripped down and you got to be a real Willie fan and forgive his suspect singing. Then you got Sturgill's unique version. Like I said if somebody had done it "normal" and traditional with a big band decades ago it would be an all time classic

My Morning Jacket w/ John Fogerty. It's not a faster tempo though.

I'd like to hear Otis Redding or similar soul style vocalist sing it.
