I've got a live album from the late 60's or early 70's that is really great, no CD, album. It's timeless, like Buddy Miles in the same time period. I guess it's been re-released in CD form, the horms and B3 were really tight. His newer stuff NOT as good. A lot of Baton Rouge bands covered those songs in 73'/74' when I lived in B.R.. The NightTimers, Van Broussard, and Floyd Brown were some of them.

Into the Mystic is definitely one of my favorites too. I saw The Allman Brothers Band play it at Jazzfest about 6/7 years ago with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks killing it on slide. Hands down the best version I've ever heard of the song.
In 07? I was there. Was awesome. Chuck Levelle sat in for Jessica, too. Great show.

Anyone who has never listened to Period of Transition, go download it or buy it. By far the most funky Van Morrison album. Co-produced by Dr. John. Good shite.

I recommend you watch and listen to Van Live At Montreux 1980. The band members he had with him at this show were all ahead of their time. Amazing pieces of music throughout the whole concert.
Mine was Listen To The Lion that got me. Amazing song structures and ideas that he orchestrated.
Cold Wind In August is also a favorite.

Whoah, easy killa. You know how many albums he has? He'd have to take a week off work.

I had a similar Van Morrison awakening in my early/mid 20's. It has since passed, but I still like his stuff.
Yeah, I don't think I'd heard a track other than "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Domino" until I was maybe 24 and listened to Astral Weeks...and immediately realized that the man is a musical genius.

If it came down to a vote, I think Astral Weeks would win out even if you added up every other albums tallies
Anything up until TB Sheets is just amazing. Can't help but getting into it

can't go wrong with the album 'moondance'. Not a week track on it other than maybe the title track.

I'm getting married this spring and the old lady put me in charge of the music. Then I nearly got demoted because half the songs were Van Morrison.
