That's an awesome setlist.

It is going to be the setlist for every show

Billy Corgan has stated that the setlist for Smashing Pumpkins’ upcoming “Shiny And Oh So Bright” reunion tour will be the same each night. The goal is to ensure the show’s unique production aspects can go off without a hitch at every concert.

Forgot to mention that Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath is in a couple video introductions in the concert...

Not really sure what the point of this is? Other than both having their heyday in the 90's, they dont even seem like musical contemporaries..

Billy being Billy I guess.

Every song they played had some sort of production aspect with it. Billy changes what he is wearing several times during the show.

The final song they play is Baby Mine. At first I got really excited thinking they were about to play Farewell and Goodnight. Took me a couple moments to realize where I know the song from (Disney's Dumbo). Jimmy comes off the drums and plays a mandolin.

ETA: Also forgot to mention when they did a cover of Stairway to Heaven. This massive idol type thing of Billy gets pushed/pulled around, circling the floor crowd.

Smashing Pumpkins at Voodoo 2007 was utterly disappointing. Can anyone besides OP vouch that they have improved their live act, because I have a hard time believing that.

I was wondering this as well. Love their studio albums but the one time I saw them live, they were awful. Was probably the most disappointing concert I’ve ever been to.

Again....look up articles reviewing the show or look up youtube videos taken from the show. If you are an SP fan...you will NOT be disappointed. I was amazed at how close they were able to sound to their album versions of their songs. Especially Mellon Collie songs. They nailed it. With Porcelina being especially impressive.

Video of Porcelina...

It was over 3 hours of SP songs from their first 5 albums. With covers of Stairway to Heaven, Space Oddity, Landslide, and Dumbo's Baby Mine.

Each song had some sort of huge production element to it. So much so that they are playing the exact same setlist at every show.

Article that sums up this tour as a gift to SP fans

I was going no spoilers, so I couldn't click on this thread (glad I didn't as I saw you posted the setlist in the first post...haha).

I'm a huge fan as well, I think Austin was my 38th show...ish.

I wasn't real happy with the covers and that includes landslide. This is YOUR show billy and it is a pumpkins reunion. I get the bowie cover, but the placement was awful. Stairway did not belong and I just don't get it. Billy has written a 1000 songs, show it.

I'm going again tomorrow and will be a lot closer. I'm excited to see this set again, for the most part. There is a lot to get excited about

I feel bad for Jeff, as I got to watch him a lot tonight. If you don't know who that is, he is the new version of Iha...and the best guitarist on stage.

Meanwhile, go see this show. I'll be in the second row in Houston tomorrow singing and dancing along, come say hello

I was at the show tonight too. Looks like luck was on my side and my seats got upgraded from upper deck to the lower level. We had great seats, except for some idiot couple behind us who constantly bickered throughout the show, loudly. Fortunately, there were plenty of open seats nearby so I just moved.

I saw a dad bring his 8 year old son in and sat next to me. I thought, “wow, what a cool dad and lucky kid!” At first. Then the dad got hammered on 8 beers and had to keep getting up to pee and interrupt our experience. His kid also had no desire to be there as he was playing a game on his phone the whole time, all the while one of the greatest bands ever played all their best songs with some awesome production effects. such a shame.

I loved the set list and production. It lived up to the hype. The band played well with a couple hiccups and had to start songs over.

I liked the covers. They covered Landslide on Pisces so I don’t get the grief on that one. I love the original and the cover. Stairway was a pretty cool version. They played over 3 hours of music so I have no problem with them throwing in a few covers.

My only complaint is the encore was only Solara and Baby Mine. I would have rather heard a classic than the new tune. Baby Mine was great though, and a good end to the night.

I saw on Reddit they think he did Baby Mine for his young son(who is like 2-3).

Glad you enjoyed the show. SP will be in Vegas Labor Day weekend and I’m really tempted to visit my friends in Vegas that weekend and go to that show. It was just such a good show....you want to relive it again if you can.

Look on SP’s Facebook. Billy posted the Spotify playlist with the show setlist.

Eta: How did Metric sound? In Glendale I felt like her mic needed to be turned up more. Didn’t know if that is just them live or what. I thought they overall sounded great...just wished I could better hear her vocals.

I honestly didn’t know exactly who they were going into the show. Meant to look up their music before but got busy with other stuff.

But her first song I was like “that’s the Scott Pilgrim song!”

Realized I knew several of their songs just never knew the name of the band.

I was there as well. I was very pleased with the show. Hard to pick the highlights since everything was consistent but I really enjoyed Zero, Siva, Tonight Tonight, Mayonaise. Siva was probably the best all out rocker. if only they played Geek USA. Most importantly they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Glad to see Billy back in form.

My favorite moment was when they played Mayonaise. Especially towards the end of the song when it was just Billy and James playing. They were standing across from one another and it just seemed like such an awesome moment for both of them.

Metric is a very good band. I've seen them at voodoo a couple of times over the years, which is how we discovered them. I was pretty pumped when they got added as the opener.

Yes. It was pretty awesome to see these two having a great time together again, after over a decade of animosity toward each other. It made me happy to see them put their past behind them and move forward.

What goofy city specific thing did James say to welcome the crowd?

For us it was the “its soooo hot here”. Which..,.every single concert I’ve gone to here in AZ in the summer....the band mentions this to the crowd.
