Slightly negative things about this Jazzmaster XII..

(1) it's fricken heavy as hell.
(2) Due to the offset, when you are playing with it on your knee, your left-hand position is about 5 inches further away from your body, more like a bass. Admittedly, that's probably a more correct playing position, it's just not what I'm used to. Also contributes to #3.
(3) The small button tuners are very close together and the angle, because of the offset, make it a bitch to tune.
The sound of this thing is fantastic though. It's pure magic.
I think I have found a solution!
I got a picture of this guitar on an ad here.

They have the same pickups. Same scale length. The neck and bridge are direct swaps. A few screws, new setups and strings..
I will then have a 12 string Thinline Jazzcaster + a Jazzmaster with a Telly neck and maple fretboard.
It'll be different

I like my Jazzmaster XII just as it is. I only play it while sitting. Please post photos of both guitars when finished. Sounds like a fun project. I'm in the process of building a parts guitar with a unique body.

They sound great! The pickups are fantastic for a guitar in this price range.

Probably will be a couple of months before I can buy one of those Telecasters. I've bought 4 guitars since Christmas. No real expensive ones, but it adds up.

Post photos when you can, I really like seeing other people's projects.

How many guitars do you have?

I bought a Squier XII neck and converted a Squier Jazzmaster body to a 12 string with the tremolo. It sounds awesome and tuning stability has been just fine even with trem use.

Right now, I have 12 that I can pick up and play.
That might sound like a lot, but they are all different and have unique sounds. The thing I started recording last week already has 5 different guitars on it so far and I will be using 2 more on that
I have a bunch that aren't playable right now and are more suitable for props and wall hangers. I'm working on a deal to sell all of those to one guy.
Then I will be shopping for a really nice Gibson j-45.

I've heard: Two. The one I'm buying and the next one.

That's a possibility too. As far as I'm concerned, they are plenty good enough.
I got 1 of the Epiphone IBGC J-180s about 3 months ago and it's absolutely fantastic.
It's the frost blue version. I ordered these pickguards and installed both.
Looks really good.
