Outs himself through lyrics on his new album Channel Orange, where he uses the word "him" instead of her multiple times when talking bout falling in love.

His album sales just plummeted

Isn't he a part of Odd Future?

Don't they talk about gays etc etc?

His mixtape was good. He is either going to gain a lot of fans or lose a ton. I will still listen to him, he is a good artist.

Their DJ, Syd Tha Kid, is a lesbian.

Oh, the irony that they're both in OF.

As long as he doesn't force those beliefs in his music, then I'll still listen. Sad, nonetheless.

His publicist says he WAS gay, but he's all better now.

lulz.

If you take a dick in your arse, as a man. . .or stick your penis inside a man on purpose. . .

You are always gay.

You can't take that shite back.

Why are black people so crushingly anti-gay?

Black people make TigerDroppings look tolerant. Well, maybe not, but still, you get my point.

The guy he loved didn't feel the same way at the time so no butt sex was involved. Furthermore it's quite an ironic thing for his publicist to say he "was" gay, I mean really. He's either gay or not, because one is born that way, amirite?

Not anymore. They're all pro-gay now because of Obama.

Most of the people who would buy a Frank Ocean album probably don't care if he is gay or not.

Since FOs fans are largely socially liberal white people this will only strengthen their admiration for him.

It might push potential collaborators away, but guys like Kanye that are pro-LGBT will still work with him, plus he's in OF.

In the end though it's a pretty brave thing to do in the hip hop world. If you go and type his name in on a twitter search and youll see a lot of homophobia.

There is constantly "news" about a famous person being gay, and then people tend to flood the articles with comments like "good for them." I really don't get it. It's not as if they've accomplished something. "Oh, they're wildly successful, and they were gay the whole time. Wow!" Maybe if it was 20 years ago I'd give them credit for being "brave", but now it just seems like a way to get your name in the headlines.

Given that there are like zero openly gay men in the rap world, a culture that stereotypically despises homosexuality, it's definitely brave. The burden of non-heteronormative sexual orientation is something that is a huge internal struggle, and to openly admit that levies a huge psychological toll.
