I listened to them in the 90's. They were essentially a 2 album wonder. Everybody knows Cumbersome, but that entire album is great.
I find them on YouTube occasionally. The song Lucky is awesome, and they do a version of Otis Redding's How Strong My Love Is. That dude is awesome. He has a great rock voice.
Thoughts?
Are the still together?
Saw them live once in Austin. They opened with My My and his scream to open that song shook the entire place.

American Standard is a fantastic album!
Several songs on RockCrown & Orange Ave. are pretty good also.
I met the guys at a club once in the mid-90's. They seemed pretty cool, so I followed their career closely for a while. Wish they were still making music.

They were more good than bad but not great. I enjoyed a bunch of their stuff though

Cumbersome made me quit a band once. Sat down to pick out the chords, song started coming through the speakers, I called up the bass player and told him "Nope". Turned out the be the straw that sucked up the camel's backside.
I honestly don't think I've ever gotten all the way through that song without turning it off or leaving from wherever it's playing.

Cumbersome is a good song but was extremely overplayed.
Waters Edge and My My are solid jams.

So they are done? Broken up? "Retired"?
Was there substance abuse? I never heard that but it is rock and roll.
