it's a delicate balance between art + commerce .... Especially at the Varsity. The owners print enough money from their other endeavors and expect the Varsity to follow suit. They obviously weren't that concerned about the reputation of the venue from 2000- to AB because it was embarrassing and god awful. A Tuesday night sold out show opens the door for more Mogwai's, Arctic Monkeys etc. Smart way to make the room profitable and build good will for more risky shows. Smart.

Well guys, what can I say about last night! I woke up next to the LSU lakes, hungover, and covered in a runny brown substance that I'm going to assume is mud. My black Jnco baggy pants are torn, my chain wallet is missing, and I think I called my high school girlfriend 8 times last night. In the midst of my early 2000's grunge drunk, I ended up paying for a Plank road hooker and ending up puking on her head while she was blowing me. I got Cane's, broke a window at the Chimes with my fist, and blacked out. Overall solid night
