Thoughts?
Good album, super depressing, as to be expected given his divorce. I think it is pretty good. My favorite tracks are Haunted House, Shiver and Shake, and I think Doomsday. He also released a bunch of tour dates. Hoping to catch a show with the new band.

im thinking itll present well on tour -- i like it overall. Not FREAKING OUT with excitement but seemed solid. its been streaming for a few days so ive given a few spins.

I have similar thoughts. I am getting a tad tired of Ryan's infatuation with 80s guitar riffs, but at least he is not selling out and pumping out shite.

I've had it playing all morning. I really like it.
Doomsday, Anything I Say To You Now, and Breakdown are probably my favorite so far. And Do You Still Love Me.

didn't he have the last one and the 1989 cover to get over that? actually he writes better when depressed.
i saw him this summer, and he killed it until he got pissed at people for talking throughout his and Amanda Shires's entire show, and quit; and I don't blame him.
i wasn't overwhelmed by the 3 singles on this album. The straight rock sound is okay for a live song or two but doesn't a whole album make. Will give it another go tonight!
eta: the non-singles tracks are better than the singles tracks so far!

super depressing
Never thought I would hear someone describe a Ryan Adams album as super depressing...

Tell them that the house is not for sale. Harder now that it's over. And the like.

That was sarcasm, my friend.

I think it's pretty upbeat on first listen. Wife and I are both digging it.

Damn you got me. The meter was stuck yesterday. Lol. (I over thought it--i was like, well I haven't listened to an album from to back in a while. Maybe Ryan does a good job of interspersing the feelgoods among the wrist-slitters.)

The 'Ryan Adams' album was while he was married and she actually sang on it. I love that album.
