Who else is going? They aren't coming anywhere close to Louisiana. Just Ft. Worth, San Antonio and Atlanta so I opted to buy tickets in Cleveland where I first saw them in 1980. Tickets are not cheap but could be the last time this ever happens. Girl drummer replacing Neil Peart.

I'm considering either Atlanta or Charlotte but I haven't made up my mind yet. I have seen them before and they were pretty great, I guess it depends on how outrageous the ticket prices are

I've seen RUSH six times, I think. I have decided not to go see them on this tour.

I’ll pass. I’m a huge fan but don’t want to see them as they are now. I passed in 2015 for the same reason. This is nothing but a money grab.

I hope everyone does enjoy the show. I heard it’s pretty pricy.

What's an example of something that wouldn't be a "money grab"? This always seems like such a nebulous accusation to me.

It doesn’t sit right with me. And I’m most likely being too hard on them. I don’t begrudge them doing it, I just don’t like it.

The sky high prices, all the talk they wouldn’t do it again and now they’ll just round up a new drummer, keyboard player, and most likely a whole ghost band behind the curtain.

A money grab is something motivated by greedy financial gain, so yeah, not much different than most shows these days I agree. I just think of it more so when it’s a group that is not even the same band and very old and just padding the retirement. Gotta keep them checks rolling in. And it’s not just them, I’m sure they have a machine around them pushing them very hard to do this.

I just really respected Peart and he said when he couldn’t do Rush at 100%, he wouldn’t do it anymore and he was sincere about that.

Also forgot, the drumming up demand thing isn’t necessarily the worst thing in the world, but it’s just silly and a little slimey. They start and announce like 16 shows in 5 towns or something like that. Right before or when tickets go on sale, hey folks, demand has been crazy, we’re adding 8 more shows. Then prices are nuts, they are selling out like crazy fast, folks crying and bitching for a week about not getting tickets. Hello folks, Al and Ged here, thank you so much it’s been so great. We will go ahead and add 17 stops to the tour. Cool. You know they didn’t just start calling venues and setting it up. This has probably been 6 months to a year in planning. Just don’t insult my intelligence and act like it’s some organic thing.

The internet says Geddy Lee is worth $50 million. Seems unlikely he cares that much about the money.

A tour after an album to support that album when the original members are all still alive and not 72. I just learned Alex Lifeson's real name is Aleksandar Živojinovic.

See my comment about the machine around them.

Oh and I added a comment to my other post about the additional new shows.

Is it a money grab when Paul McCartney or the Rolling Stones play shows these days? All the old folks still get excited for that.

This just seems arbitrary. They are a popular group who haven't toured in years. Who cares about a new album? If anything, I'd pay them more NOT to have to hear any new stuff.

It sucks that Peart died, but what can you do?

Funny you say that. Alex Lifeson said he met McCartney a year or so ago. He knew of the band but not much else. Asked if they were playing and he said no, our drummer died. He said McCartney told him that didn’t matter and they needed to be out there playing.

Correct, you are being too hard on them.

Concerts are expensive nowadays. RUSH doing this is going to be a pricey ticket.

Why not make money if you are fortunate enough to be in demand? What is an old musician supposed to do? Walmart greeter? If Alex and Geddy want to play their music for their fans, I can't knock them for it.

This is pretty common with bigger artists and selling shows. I was buying a pre-sale ticket for The Weeknd at Metlife when they added a show the next night. When I was buying my ticket for the second night, they added a third. A bunch of cities were done the same way.

As an FYI, fan club pre-sale tickets for Iron Maiden shows in 2026 go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. Megadeth and Anthrax will be openers, although not always together. Mustaine's last hurrah.
