Here is a playlist of most covers SRV did
.
His influences include both Freddie and Albert King, Buddy Guy, Hendrix, Lonnie Mack, jazz guy Kenny Burrell, Howlin Wolf, Guitar Slim, his writing partner Doyle Bramhall, not to mention older brother Jimmie Vaughn.

How cool would it be to be able to go see an SRV concert. Especially if he had 30 more years to make music. He would have been 66 this year.

SRV is on a very short list of people I wish I'd seen live. What a talent.

One of my personal favorites from SRV:

Look at Little Sister

Broke a guitar string, still made it sound badass, switched guitars, picked up right where he left off without missing a beat.

I think the audience knew they were in the presence of a god.

I saw him a lot when I was hanging out in Austin in the '80's. He was constantly showing up at Antones to jam with either the house band or whoever was in town that night. There was nothing like that first time, though...
