7.5/10, I really like the guitar work on that song.

Pink Floyd - Fearless

Pink Floyd's most underrated song, IMO.

9/10 - Very mellow jam of a song, I like it a lot. Have to remember this one for road tripping.

Jank - Wut I Liek Abt U

Don't know how this board feels about emo/post-hardcore/indie punk but I thought I'd test the waters

Glad to see this thread gaining some traction again...

7/10 - I actually liked that song. You initially turned me off with "emo," but that was quite good. I wouldn't put that in the emo category, though I do hear some of its elements. It reminded me of Pinback a lot actually.

My Morning Jacket - In It's Infancy This one is very reminiscent of Pink Floyd to me, in particular "Animals" at certain points. It does have a few change-ups and different elements, so listen all the way through

8/10 - That whole album is great imo. Such a atmospheric, heady song.

Cool vibe with the distortion used. Honestly, it reminds me of a song that would be used on True Detective season 2.

6/10 I like the rock aspect to it, but it veers off to be a bit too jam bandish for my tastes. Overall a good song though

Porcupine Tree - Time Flies sticking with the Pink Floyd "Animals" theme (yes my favorite PF album and top 5 fav for me overall), here is one that would fit on that record and you'd never know it didn't belong.

I love Porcupine Tree, but the Incident just never did it for me. I think he should have mixed/produced Time Flies more along the Stupid Dream or Lightbulb Sun sound. It really could have been a gorgeous song, but he progged it up way too much.

Honestly, thinking back, the main riff is VERY similar to Last Chance to Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled, which is a much better song. Basically, this is Last Chance to Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled times Dogs by Pink Floyd. That said, I always felt like The Incident was kind of an homage to Steven's musical past. I just prefer the past music to the homage.

6/10 - I enjoyed the music, particularly the piano. However, her vocals were a little humdrum for me.

8/10.....I enjoyed it. Very pleasant and breezy.

Clarke and Himselfs- Conversations

Saw this guy open up for Built to Spill Thursday and I liked him so much, I bought his album off bandcamp. Has a very DIY indie sound. It's a one man band, guy plays drums, guitar and sings live.

7/10 - I liked it on the listen but might not listen to it in a steady rotation.

I haven't heard that song in forever, yet I vividly remember in Romeo and Juliet.

6/10 - I like the industrial aspect of it, but not my favorite. I wanna listen to I'm only happen when it rains now.

I've been on a big Beirut kick lately.

They definitely have their own sound. Kind of reminds me of DeVotchKa in a way, but used in a more low key manner.

Not a bad song, just not my style. The nylon string sound is an interesting touch.

8/10, I really enjoyed that.

Keeping in the spirit of melancholy sounding songs.

Ryan Adams - The Shadowlands

A slow-developing, but eerie and really cool song. Hope you enjoy

10/10. I'm a huge, huge RA's fan. Therefore, I'm going to be hard-pressed not giving him high ratings. Love is Hell was such a fantastic, dark album. You can tell his albums resemble his (most likely) bi-polar mood. They change style, focus, and tone much like the wind changes directions. Love is Hell was one of his better works imo.

U.S. Royalty - Slow Magic

Gram Parsons - A Song for You
