Harvest
Gold Rush
On The Beach
Tonight's The Night
Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere

I like Zuma but feel like it is heavily bc of Cortez. Much like Stars N' Bars is bc of Like A Hurricane (and Harvest Moon bc of the title track I guess). Time Fades Away is just as good as Rust Never Sleeps imo. Live Rust rips. That 80s computer rock Mr. Soul on Trans tho...

5. Harvest - full of classics, period
4. Psychedelic Pill - This album came out of nowhere and proved Crazy Horse can still jam the frick out
3. Rust Never Sleeps - There are songwriting performances equal to "Powderfinger", but none surpass it
2. On the Beach - in years it seems to have become the hip Neil Young album, but that second side don't lie. First is no slouch either.
1. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere - I will never forget hearing "Down by the River" for the first time and just being blown away by the extended guitar work on it. This gets #1 from that and its equally powerful brother "Cowgirl in the Sand". Rock and fricking roll

...a little R&R trivia... Ronnie Van Zandt was actually a liberal pacifist, advocated gun restrictions and wrote maybe the first pro-gun control song. He had huge admiration for Neil Young's music, quoted Neil as one of his main influences. They were also close friends, Neil wrote "Powderfinger", and first offered it to Ronnie along with two other songs for Skynyrd to record. Ronnie even wore a "Neil Young" T-Shirt on the cover of Street Survivor and many say he was buried wearing a Neil Young T-Shirt. Anyway, Van Zandt and the band members were from south Florida, anti-George Wallace Alabama and anti-"southern redneck" sentiments. Even though "Sweet Home..." seems to suggest a feud with Young, the Confederate flags on stage to suggest racism, band members have explained many times the "Sweet Home Alabama" was simply a hook with a rhyming scheme and in no w

Yes, this is true, but I almost guarantee his views would be different if he were in this era. Since 1975 many things have changed in the Political arena, in social outlook and in the World.

Also, Neil and Ronnie had planned on doing some music together, but never could make it happen before the crash due to conflicting schedules

I'm a huge fan of Neil Young, but my results are greatly skewed by the fact that the first thing I picked up from him was Decade and that took care of my interest in pretty much everything he did prior to 1978. It was a long, long, long time after that I actually acquired Harvest, Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, etc.

Ragged Glory
Rust Never Sleeps
Freedom
After the Gold Rush
Everybody Knows This is Nowhere
