1) Town Park Stage, Telluride CO
went to a multi-day festival there a couple years ago...widespread panic, jason isbell, big head todd, etc. this is far and away my favorite
2) Gerald Ford Amphitheater, Vail CO
most recent, bob weir 2 nights late june.
small, beautiful, very nice (almost luxurious) with great sound, and a stunning setting
3) tipitinas, new orleans LA
old school, still my favorite indoor show venue. untold number shows i have seen there, my favorite was the "classic" NRBQ and the whole wheat horns
4) red rocks amphitheater, morrison CO
this will be most people's favorite, and it is awesome.
nothing quite like a sunset on the rocks. wish i could have seen the dead there but i have seen furthur/phil lesh/bobby/etc.
5) the gorge, george WA
hard to believe setting. if you've never been there, its on a cliff face on the edge of the columbia river gorge, and the sun sets behind the stage. would be higher, but its pretty hard to go to a show there unless you camp, and the staff trends from "aggressive" to "neo-nazi"

For the most part, I don't care for outdoor venues... but the ones you listed are in such beautiful locations, I need to get to them one day...

I’ve been to Tipitina’s a couple of times. Great venue. I think it’s probably in good hands under the ownership of Galactic. I have a couple Professor Longhair albums that I might not own if I’d never gone there.
There’s not time or space to list all the great places I’ve seen shows, from big stadiums to free concerts in the park (or a solo acoustic show by Adrian Belew outside an art studio which was totally awesome). I’ve never seen a show in Philly. Or in Florida. Or in Texas. I never saw a show at Red Rocks. I’ve seen a football game in Arizona but never saw a concert there. I’ve never even been to Alaska. I’ve been to Hawaii but didn’t see a show there. What I should’ve done was gone to a strip club but I didn’t do that either.

The Tabernacle in Atlanta
I've only attended two shows there but really love the venue.

I've always said that House of blues New Orleans is the perfect intimate venue.
