Question re: Gov't Mule @ Saenger on Friday...

they have "Special Guest Marcus King band." Does anyone know whether they're opening for Mule or just playing with them? I want to watch as much of the Pels game as possible and if they're opening then I should be able to watch the whole game before running to the Saenger.

Mule usually has a band playing before them, they usually don't take the stage until 9pm, or so. Be prepared to stay for a while, they are a "jam band", may play 'til 2am...

The opening band usually plays their own full set then sits in later during a portion of Mule's set.
On a side note though, I'd highly recommend seeing Marcus King Band's opening set. Saw them at Hogs two years ago and they were the highlight of the day for me. This is coming from a big Pels fan too.

Yeah King is a great young talent and will be more entertaining than watching the Pels get slapped around again.

I saw Marcus open for Mule at Red Rocks. He's pretty good with his band. bluesy and soulful.
He will sit in with Mule, likely to play an ABB tune.
