My GF and I are going down to NOLA next Saturday with the intention of definitely going to the Eagles concert, and maybe a few others.

If we go to the Acura stage early (say when Irma Thomas is playing), would we have to leave after she gets done and re enter for the Eagles, or could we stay in the same spot for The Eagles?

Trying to figure out how early and when to get there

You would probably not be able to get back to your spot. There are no seats of any sort, all general admission and a bunch of stages. It will most likley be just as packed as Springsteen was and I know people that after Dr John played wouldn't leave to get food because they feared not getting back to their friends.

It will prob be like Bruce Springsteen's where there were people already set up in their spots before Dr. John's set even started. bring a chair, you gonna be there for awhile.

not a chance. it's probably going to be somewhere between Petty and Springsteen. still extremely packed ...but springsteen set records, i think.

and future, you probably won't wanna leave your spot between irma and eagles.

aight, I wasn't planning on it.
Is it hard to keep up with your stuff once the concert starts? I figure people may squinch up as close as possible.

for Bruce, we were in the "don't bother if you don't have a flag section" and it was kinda tight. We were closer to the track, which has a big NO sign on it, so don't get right there.

basically, the first 70 or so yards are set off for people to stand. then everything behind it in the grass is reserved for seating. if you want to set up a camp to sit at in the grass, you're gonna need to be there no later than 11:30. then just sit all day, enjoy the shows. nothing wrong with that.

if you want to stand up front, then i suggest not bringing anything but yourself and maybe a backpack with some waters/sunscreen/a towel to sit on between shows. and if you want up near the fronton for Eagles, you should probably get there before irma starts. aim for the right side, it's always less crowded.

i was pretty close to you. i was on the grassy knoll right in front of the grandstand near the track.

I dont need to be that close...I plan on planting in a chair until close to the eagles start....in that chart, where should I be?

What does "don't bother if you don't have a flag" mean?

it means if you don't have a flag to mark your spot, you might not find your way back if you leave to go to the bathroom

Saturday is going to be packed. Herbie Hancock, My Morning Jacket, and the Eagles all on at the same time.

I'll be there on Sunday for Galactic and Foo Fighters. Is there anyone worth seeing after Foo Fighters ends? I don't know how much I care about seeing the Neville Bros.

"correct" answer is yes. but to me, no there isn't. that stage is going to clear like an elevator when someone farts after foo ends. it's going to be so sad/funny to watch.
