I think he is probably the most underrated guitarist of the 60s.

Clapton, Hendrix, Page, Beck, Gilmour, etc. will forever be remembered but Green doesn't get the respect he's due.

“If You Let Me Love You” and “Jumping at Shadows” are absolute masterpieces of blues guitar.

ETA: I watched a documentary recently on him and he clearly has severe mental issues. He can barely form coherent thoughts. It’s really sad what he became and the damage that mental illness did to him.

Goddamn Krauts fried his brain with bad acid.

People who know, know. He's revered. BB King (RIP) said he was the only guitarist whose playing made him shiver.

Green will, upon passing, be remembered for being the lead guitarist who best used space and silence, within incredible tonality and tastefully limited sustain.

He was an even better song writer.

Lest you forget, he was Clapton's replacement in Mayall's Blues Breakers.

The Green Manalishi is sublime, and what's considered the pinnacle of his time with FM by many. It's diabolical, and the climatical fruit of what was done to him in Munich.

Just finished up the same documentary I was talking about and yes you are right.

I wasn’t aware of this incident and it’s frightening. Both guys (Green and Danny Coleman) had serious mental illness struggles after that incident. Didn’t know acid could have lasting effects like that.

Wrote one of the most iconic songs ever in "Black Magic Woman," but it took Carlos Santana to make it a smash hit.

How Blue Can You Get is my favorite blues song of all time, even if he borrowed it from BB. That man was on a different planet. Gary Moore, the legend, was bashful about playing alongside Peter in the heyday. Gary ended up buying Peter's '59 gold top after he left Fleetwood Mac...thought he could get the tone if he could get the axe but what Peter had can't be replicated

I don't care for them at all, but they're good for a wonderful quote:

"When the Black Crowes recorded and toured with Jimmy Page, he told us so many Peter Green stories. It was clear that Jimmy loves the man’s talent. And if he’s good enough for a giant like Jimmy to acclaim, then it reinforces my adoration."

Worried Dreams (Live) ~ PG's FM

Sublime. His 'chirp' has no peer. Not even Hendrix or Clapton could do that without lingering.
