Haven’t had a chance to listen to this yet but big fan of periphery. Will listen to it this weekend. How does it stack up with the rest of their albums?

tough to say just yet

I don't know how it is for you but it takes me several listens to really get into their albums so I haven't quite gotten there.

But it is good, without a doubt.

It's Only Smiles is a good melodic one if you want something easy to start

Like everything else, I love it.

Crush is the only song I can't get close to just yet.

Where will you see them? I've always wanted to see them again. Last time was when they opened for Deftones in 2013 at the Varsity.

I don't think they have come back to South LA since.

I follow them all on Twitter and wonder if their political views are keeping them away from here. Last time they toured the south, several band members were constantly on twitter talking about how everything was "racist", even down to advertisements for BBQ restaurants. I thought that was a bit over the top....

Silver Spring, MD...DC basically since that's where they're from it's like their "homecoming" type show.

Reptile is simply a masterpiece of prog metal.

That's kinda odd but knowing them they may have been being sarcastic or something. Misha just moved to Dallas so obviously has no problem living down there.

Very much. I just put it on repeat three times and ran for nearly 50 minutes. Love it.

It isn't him. It is the other guitar players. Bowen and Holcomb. I love watching their instructional videos because I play guitar, but could never play their shite. Never. I like watching their videos to better understand scales, etc. Anyway, one of them was constantly posting just the most insane, raunchy stuff about Republicans that I had to stop following him.

Here's to hoping they come back around here one day.

Enjoy the show!

Only Smiles is exactly the kind of heavy major key riffage I am into.

II is still my favorite album of theirs, but this one is probably next. Satellites is already one of my favorite songs they've ever written.

yea it's one of their songs that doesn't require the acquired taste of the style to enjoy. Just a happy go lucky jam. Especially love the work at 1:42

I've had it on repeat for a couple days now. Love when the harsh vocals appear, catches you off guard a little

I'm just getting into their stuff recently so I'll check this out. Just finished listening to Icarus Ep and Periphery II so I should make my way through everything else by the end of this week.

Already into similar styled instrumental bands like Animals as Leaders, Intervals, etc, so hopefully this will be a good new find for me.

Animals as Leaders
one of the guitarists for Periphery grew up in the area near the guitarist for Animals as Leaders and even produced their first album I believe.

Just finished all of Periphery.

Not digging this one as much as the others but liking Garden in the Bones and It's Only Smiles. Reptile will need some time to grow on me, like most epic prog songs.

I'm officially into Periphery now and will be relistening to all of their stuff for quite some time now.
