This is a fantastic album. Not like any of the work by DBT or the other PH solo albums.
Immediately one of my favorites of the year

I don't see how this is possible, TBH.

Hood is definately my least favorite vocalist out the group, but his song Assassin (when sung by Isbell) is one of my top 10 of the last 15 years.

I think Hood is not a very good judge of his material. Cooley writes about 3-4 songs per album, and they are usually all excellent. Hood writes about 10, and half of them are excellent. He just needs to learn when to cut bait on certain ideas. But when he's on... man, he is one of the best storytellers in rock n roll.

have you listened to this album yet? I'm interested in your opinion on it

no doubt, that's a great song

I have it an I've listened to it once... but it didn't really grab me. I haven't really formed an opinion of it yet, though I really like the song "Come Back Little star". That is the one song that really jumped out at me and made me think it might be his best song since the Living Bubba.
Going on a roadtrip this weekend so I'm sure it'll get some plays and I'll have a more concrete opinion.

i thought go go boots was probably his best all around effort for one album. not many of his tracks knocked me on my arse (other than used to be a cop), but they were all solid, imo.
i know the gaucho wishes he could participate in this discussion

I still have not found a song I like sung by Hood. I don't hate Righteous Path, but that's the best I can say.

Man, I love Hood's vocals, but it might be an Alabama thing.

Cooley is by far my favorite, but in all honesty I feel like Hood is the voice of DBT; I'll definitely be picking up the album
