the local country cover band parish county line played a texas club show to "250" people on june 13th. Word is coming out now that they had tested positive for covid-19 but did the show anyways. Laine Hardy shared a microphone with the PCL singer that night, and he also tested positive: LINK

pretty irresponsible to me that a band knowingly played a show and knew that they were positive for the virus. They should have isolated themselves from the public when they knew they were positive for the virus but I guess the $ was more important than anything else.

If they knowingly had Covid before the show and performed anyway, resulting in people getting sick, then they deserve the social media tar & feather job coming their way plus the likely lawsuits.

We called off a show just because our bassist’s roommate tested positive. He got tested and started quarantining immediately. Since we didn’t get results back until after the show, we had to cancel it. It turned out he didn’t have it, but we would never take a dumb risk like that.

Heck, we were being pressured publicly to cancel our show last weekend despite none of us having covid. The governor ended up issuing an order to shut down live music again right before we went on stage, but the venue demanded we go through with it anyways since we were already set up and the crowd was already there (just a few dozen people, nothing huge).

I would never knowingly go out in public, let alone perform, if I had the virus. F$&k them if that rumor is true!

How on earth could unwise decisions come from bro-country people? Who could have predicted?

Stupid and irresponsible thing to do. What I am wondering is how they managed to get through the show with this horrible, deadly disease.

if you KNOW you are positive, why would you not isolate yourself and not be in a large crowd of people with no face masks etc?

It’s not really dangerous to younger healthy folk, but it’s super dangerous to older people. The issue is that you can spread it to people who are susceptible. At some point, people need to assess their own risks and make decisions accordingly, but knowingly exposing hundreds of people when you KNOW you have the virus and are contagious is POS behavior.

Then consent was obtained under false pretenses. I can’t believe this philzilla moron is prattling on about whether or not the audience was “forced” to attend. If they knew the band had Covid before the show, there’s zero chance any of them would have showed up.

Then this other idiot monsterballads responded with the complete non sequitur

To which I, being the jovial fellow that I am, replied mirthfully
