Opinions on Rock

I feel as if I just walked myself into a shite fest.
I will probably be made fun of a lot in this thread.

I love all rock music. There's a little bit I like from every subgenre of Rock.

Soft rock - Fleetwood Mac
Hard Rock - Led Zeppelin, ACDC
Progressive Rock - Supertramp
Art Rock - Roxy Music
Country rock - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Jazz rock - Dave Matthews Band

And, of course I love some of the metal leaning bands like Tool and SOAD.

Good band, but get repetitive after a while. I really love the thickness in their chords and the type of overdrive distortion they use. It's very heavy, but all of the individual notes come through crystal clear.

As far as bands still together making music, I'm more of an Alter Bridge (as well as Myles Kennedy's solo stuff with Slash), Foo Fighters, Gaslight Anthem, Rise Against guy. I really like STP with the guy from Lincoln Park. Chevelle, Mastodon, Pearl Jam, & Asking Alexandria have had some good tracks recently as well.

I like The Black Keyes, Alabama Shakes, Jack White, Cage the Elephant, Crash Kings, ect as well.

Now, for old stuff, late 60's and 70's hard rock is the King (The Beatles, The Who, The Stones, Zep, Allman Bros, ect).

Jazz/blues funky Rock was some increadible stuff with Jaco Pastorius, Weather Report, Chicago, Blood,Sweat,&Tears, ect.

80's had some fun metal (Metallica, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Van Halen, G&R, ect)

My guilty pleasure is late 90's-early 2000's pop/punk rock. Blink 182, Sum 41, Yellowcard, Unwritten Law, Sugarcult, The Starting Line, Menzingers, Everclear, Greenday, Bowling For Soup, ect. That genre was pure fun.
